All the members of SHAAM are committed to their third studio album 'Celebrate Life' which will insha'Allah be recorded early next year. It captures live in a studio setting a typical mawlid performance full of classic, traditional Arabic material together with some recitation of Qur'an, the Adhan and dhikr. This much requested and eagerly anticipated release follows on from their Live In Concert album released earlier this year. The album was recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London (made famous by The Beatles and the like) and the session together with interviews with the group were also filmed for future DVD release.

1/7/04 - Well the time has arrived! They've been in solid rehearsals these past months. They've had to pass on numerous invitations to perform (sorry guys), put their third studio album 'Celebrate Life' on hold and even neglected their families. So now it's time to step up to the mike, as they say.
This weekend SHAAM go into the studio to record their much anticipated Arabic sets. Anyone who has seen SHAAM perform these live will know how spiritual and intense these are. All being well, insha'Allah, expect the album release in October 2004. They ask that everyone remember them in their dua's.

In the run-up to these recordings, and during their rehearsals, SHAAM gave an exclusive interview for the June edition of Meem Music & Audio Newsletter. To subscribe click here. To obtain a copy of this newsletter please fill in the feedback form here, stating the words: 'SHAAM interview'.

10/5/04 SHAAM were featured in the May issue of EMEL Magazine who described them as 'one of the seminal Nasheed artists of our time'

5/4/04 After two excellent studio albums SHAAM announce the forthcoming release of their first 'Live in Concert' album due out in June. Recorded last December in their home town of Birmingham to an audeince of nearly 3,000 as part of the sell-out ISB/YM Nasheed Extravaganza Concerts, SHAAM give a great performance of tracks from 'Mercy like the Rain' and 'Spring has Come' plus moving renditions of Arabic and Urdu classics. The album culminates in a rousing finale that also features fellow artists Al-Habaib, Shaheed Alkawn, Khaleel Muhammad, Dawud Wharnsby Ali and Sami Yusuf. SHAAM in Concert captures the essence of SHAAM live at a gathering commemorating the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr and a remembrance of Palestine.

4/4/04 Having taken a well deserved 3 month break from live performances, SHAAM are back on the events scene!!! Check Events listing section for regular updates.

24/2/04 SHAAM continue their pre-production work for their upcoming album 'Celebrate Life' which is due out towards the end of this year. This includes finalising track selection, lyrics re-writes, rehearsals and development of the melodies and harmonies. Once in the studio, it is estimated to take 6-7 months to record, mix and master the album. The brothers ask that you remember them in your du'as and pray that Allah swt may guide them in their work.

SHAAM would like to express their appreciation for all the support they received during their performances over the past few months, particularly during the sell-out Nasheed Extravaganza concerts. While they continue to receive many invitations to perform both in the UK and abroad, they are trying to curtail these while working on their new material. They thank you for your patience and understanding if there is a delay in getting back to your requests or if they unfortunately have to decline.
